A particular mention to Peter Tomaszewicz who we worked with for one of the Idents.
The Brief.
With 2 films required to fit into a library of idents being created for the imminent launch of the rebrand we were presented with two category ideas, ‘offbeat’ - surreal, bizarre or a bit daft, and ‘gripping’ - tightening, suffocating, contracting, claustrophobic.
Specific timing and logo placement details were shared that we needed to conform to so that the package worked seamlessly on air. The central curve of the numeral ‘2’ becomes a glue for infinite artistic expressions.
Our Approach
Animation behaviour was key to ensuring the mood of each ident was conveyed. Meticulous experimentation of textures and shaders as well as colours and lighting meant we could be confident that we were hitting the brief. Creating soft, hard and furry elements for ‘offbeat’ certainly added a an element of the bizarre and the twisted tight composition of ‘gripping’ really upped the feeling of tension. Working extremely closely with Superunion we developed beautifully crafted stand out executions.
As the project developed we were also asked to be involved with ‘sharp’ and some of the next batch of Christmas idents.
